Equipping Believers

How does a youth ministry take students and prepare them for a lifetime of devotion to the Lord?  Can it be done in a sermon series?  An event?  A program?  None of the above?  All of the above?

Discipleship needs to be done.  We can plant and water, but God causes the growth.  Discipleship can be described as an intentional time of planting and watering.  Getting students to put their faith into practice, held accountable, challenged to grow, celebrating victories, and doing it consistently needs to be more than encouraged, it needs to be a constant.  While all students will be motivated to grow in the Lord at different times, we as a ministry can be clear about what to do when that time comes.

Discipleship groups (D-groups) start May 16th at Crossroads Youth Ministry.  These groups will give those students who want to add depth and consistency to their relationship with God an opportunity to do so.  D-groups will be student initiated with leaders and will require investment and consistency from every student involved.

A youth ministry can't take the steps of growth for a student, but it can show them the footsteps to follow and help guide them along the way.  If you're a student looking to be equipped for the journey, then keep walking and invite someone to join you.  Step up and be a part of a D-group at Crossroads.
